| The International Court of Arbitration of the International Chamber of Commerce in Paris has admitted an extension of the claim lodged in the relevant arbitration by Electrica S.A. of Romania against ČEZ, a.s. The claim has thus increased to EUR 82 mil from the original damages EUR 18.8 mil sought at the start of the proceeding in October 2012. The petition is based on an alleged, non-specified failure of ČEZ to honor certain obligations arising from the Privatization Agreement. ČEZ continues to insist that it has not breached the Privatization Agreement of 2005, which the parties confirmed as ČEZ subsequently purchased the remaining minority stakes from Electrica in 2009. For this reason, ČEZ considers Electrica's claim as absolutely ungrounded and has moved that the petition be rejected. |
